This morning we split up into four small groups; three of the groups read and discussed a Wall Street Journal article regarding four major reasons why people choose to go to college. We used the three small rooms in the back of the Computer Courtyard to collaborate. The fourth group of about five students used the time to work on MyWritingLab. That group also received the article to read at home.
In our next class, students who participated in the reading circles will bring a draft of a paragraph (about eight sentences) that explores the main reason why they are in college. They will spend time reading the paragraphs aloud in their small groups and revising.
The group that worked on MywritingLab will work with me in the back room on the article and also on starting the paragraph.
By Tuesday of next week, everyone will need to have Three Cups of Tea.
